Through the Bible in One Year 3

Dec29

Are you looking for a New Year’s resolution? I’ve found mine and I want to challenge you to join me. I am going to read through the Bible in 2010. I have read the Bible through several times in the past but I have not done so for a few years and so I’ve decided that I will in the coming year. I am going to follow the schedule in the back of my Life Application New Living Translation, but there are many other options available to help you stay on track. For those of you who want to read the Bible on-line, check out BibleGateway or YouVersion; both offer different versions, plans and even the option to download your plan to your mobile phone. If you want to use a One Year Bible there are many to choose from.

God’s Word is a ‘lamp to guide our feet and a light for our paths‘ (Psalm 119:105). Want to join me in lighting up 2010 with the Word? Any takers?

Tim

i took this challenge last year and fell behind in february and was so daunted w/trying to catch up that i abandoned the challenge altogether. i use youversion because i can get email reminders and can access it on my iPod touch, so it’s more convenient than carrying around my Bible all the time.
i’m gonna start out this year doing the challenge again.

Great idea. I’ve committed to reading and studying my way through Oswald Chambers’ “My Utmost for His Highest”. After looking through my dad’s copy, I’m inspired to read, study, and reflect on what God can teach me through Mr. Chambers as my morning devotion.

I am with you. I read through the Bible a few times before using the same method form the back of my Bible and placing a check mark at each suggested reading, the feeling of accomplishment. My way of making it a habit is to make an appointment for Mon/Wed/Fri mornings at 5am prior to a run. My target is 3 days a week and if I hit 4 or 5 days I’ll even be more encouraged and/or satisfied. Thanks for the goal Tim!
