At the Moment 0

“How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty…At the moment I have all I need—and more!” -Philippians 4:10-18

This section of Philippians was part of my devotional reading this morning and I had a wonderful time just soaking my soul in the truth of Paul’s words on contentment. I loved his comment, “At the moment I have all I need – and more.”

Perhaps you find yourself a bit unsettled about your future and what might happen tomorrow, next week or next month. And, truth be known, the future might not turn out well, but for the moment, you have all you need. Live in the moment and you will find that God is supplying your ‘daily bread’. Trust him for today! Today is all we have and God is all we need!
