A Believer’s To-Be List 2

One of my all-time favorite authors is Philip Yancy and this morning I ran across an article he wrote in 2000 entitled, “A Believer’s To-Be List: Steps to a Fresh Start with God.” It is classic Yancy. I want to urge you to read it as soon as you have 5 minutes to spare. If you tell me which part of hisĀ ’spiritual action plan for the next 50 years’ impacted you the most, I will tell you which one I chose. Enjoy!

One that isn’t mentioned that I struggle with is that I need to look foward more to the life God has prepared for me than dwelling on the past that didn’t meet my expections and present that that isn’t where I want to be.
I’m sure you are not the only one who would add this one to the list. Your comment made me think of something C.S. Lewis wrote in Mere Christianity. “A baby feels hunger: well, there is such a thing as food. A duckling wants to swim: well, there is such a thing as water. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probably explanation is that I was made for another world…I must keep alive in myself the desire for my true country, which I shall not find till after death; I must never let it get snowed under or turned aside; I must make it the main object of life to press on to that country and to help others to do the same.”
